There was a time when CDs were the coolest things to own. Sleek, rounded, metallic discs that you could burn, write on with a marker and gift to someone or add to your allotted stack in one corner of the room. They were everywhere – in the car, under the TV (with the rest of the DVDs), by the computer or randomly thrown around the place. Worse still, what actually happened to the CDs that got scratched and got stuck in the player like a literal broken record? Somehow these flat technological pieces of wonder were the epitome of the early 2000s and were one of the best inventions that teenagers and adults seemed to like at the same time! But alas, like all the great stuff we went crazy for yesterday and have now lost their shine, the great CD of lore went the way of the caveman.
